If you were recently diagnosed with eczema, your doctor has probably already discuss how important it is to care for your skin properly.I would to go a little deeper into two important parts of treating, and curing your eczema. These include always keeping your skin moisturized, and bathing. When you have eczema you must be very particular about how you are bathing.
Most of the time doctors will tell you it is not a good idea to take long showers or baths.Because of the dry skin to prolonged or frequent contact with water can cause without the proper moisturizing afterwards. As I am sure you have learned dry skin is an eczema suffers enemy because more often then not will lead to a flare up.
This is why I can not stress enough the importance of using creams or lotions right after a bath.In my experience most doctors advise against long baths or showers, and suggest you take very short ones. This is were I tend to disagree long baths or showers can go a long way towards giving your body the much needed moisture. The important part is making sure you lock the moisture in!Hence the importance of using the right skin creams, and lotions after any contact with water.
When trying to make sure you lock the moisture in after a bath or shower, there are a few simple steps you can follow to keep your skin moisturized longer.Even though you have been drying off completely all of your life after bathing I want to suggest you try something new instead of using your towel to rub your skin dry try dabbing your skin with the towel, this will remove the droplets of water still lingering on your skin but won't completely dry your skin. The reason for this is you need some moisture left on your skin to lock in.By dabbing the skin and immediately adding skin moisturizer or lotion there will be a marked difference in the dryness of your skin.
While we are on the subject of lotions, and creams I have to strongly suggest you don't use perfumed or scented lotions, yes I know they smell great, and make you feel good, but sadly most of them have chemicals that can cause an outbreak. The best way to guard against flare ups of your eczema after bathing is to opt for all natural products or at least an unscented one.
One last word of advice about bathing after being diagnosed with eczema its best you don't take more then one bath a day.Don't forget the idea is keeping your skin soothed, and not irritated,so one shower or bath a day with lukewarm water is all that is needed. If the water is to hot or cold this can lead to a flare up.Soaps are necessary to keep the skin clean but unfortunately they can also strip your skin of the oils.I would be remiss if I did not suggest again that if it s at all possible you invest in all natural products, this will go a long way in dealing with your eczema.Although being careful when taking a bath or shower isn't going to cure your eczema,it is one of the ways you can manage, your skin condition by cutting down on the outbreaks.
If you want to try doing more then simply just treat or manage your eczema, and are looking for permanent relief,I may have found the way.The latest research has proven that all natural treatments such as Eczema Free Forever, are useful when trying to treat, and cure eczema.
